Practicalities

I am generally available for an appointment within two weeks of being contacted. Before we schedule an initial appointment, we may arrange a time to speak briefly on the phone so I can hear about your needs and share how my practice operates. My private practice is small, with limited hours, and I am not available off-hours. During this initial conversation we will determine if I have the time and structure to meet your needs. Please fill out the contact form on this website as a first step.

In the first few sessions, I try to get a sense of what you’re struggling with right now, as well as how you got there.  After a few sessions, we will reflect together on whether this feels like a good fit. If I feel that I have enough understanding and expertise to be of service to you, I will recommend that we continue; if we are not well-suited, I will gladly provide referrals.

Apart from the psychotherapy patients I see in-person at the Psychotherapy Institute of Back Bay in Boston, MA, I see patients in my private practice in Central Square, Cambridge, MA. Psychotherapy clients are seen in-person, at least weekly, often twice-weekly. Medication management patients are generally seen monthly or up to once every three months, usually via HIPPA-secure video conference, but may come in-person if they choose, or if clinically indicated.

I am devoted to a therapeutic process that is confidential and protected from third party interference, and therefore I am not participating in any health insurance plans. At your request, I can provide you with invoices that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement and I can talk you through this process.
